Rishikesh.

Devbhumi – Rishikesh
After graduating from my design school on August 11th, 2018 plan was to take a trip!!!! Due to circumstances, I ended up taking this trip in December which worked out well since I got to experience the first snowfall of the season. I booked a trek to Kedarkantha through Indiahikes and decided to chill by myself in Rishikesh for 2-3 days.

Day 1. December 7th 2018,
Landed in Dehradun Airport at 4:30 PM took a taxi to Zostel Rishikesh where I was going to spend my next 3days. After a pleasant drive through the ghats I reached Zostel around 5:30 PM in the evening. Since it was already late to explore anything I winded up my day with some hot masala chai and aloo paratha.

Day 2. December 8th 2018
Signed me up for River Rafting hoping for some adventure, later in the evening attended Ganga aarthi at Ram Jhula.

Day 3. December 8th 2018
This day I decided to walk places, I took a walk around Lakshman Jhula and ended up eating a late breakfast at the Beatles Cafe and continued walking to Beatles Ashram via. Ram Jhula. After a long walk through the gallis of Rishikesh, I finally reached the ashram and was awed by the nostalgia it has to offer to one who visits the place.

Beatles Ashram,
Here, I happen to meet Swedish musician, Tina. She said she was in her 50s, was on a world tour and likes visiting India for peace of mind. She offered to click a picture of mine in front of the mural and I definitely was flattered.

Triveni Ghat Ganga Aarthi.
After a quick sandwich from the canteen at the ashram, I headed towards Triveni Ghat to experience the Ganga Aarti. Religious/non-religious, the aarthi gets you a little moved, maybe that’s just what music and light does to you when put together.

After the Aarthi, I took a local shared auto to the Zostel chilled with few travellers and bid Rishikesh a goodbye until next time.
